When it couldn't get any worse...

Sitting at work, bored out of your brains. Time is against you. All you want is for it to hit home time so you can jet. Being at work is bad enough, you don't need the added 'bs' from your colleagues but trust you will get it all. What's a day at work without it?

Sitting here I'm more shocked than anything at working with grown women, who are well into establishing their own family, yet find the need to bicker and bitch...Pardon the French! When successfully acquiring the Hospital job, I thought here we go all the drama and immaturity will cease. Oh was I wrong. I will enlighten you on a few ridiculous allegations these middle-aged women threw my way...

  1. My clothes were too revealing- Mind you I was wearing a knee-high, turtle neck dress with thick black tights, flat boots and a 3/4 length coat. Was my face and hands too revealing for them? What must I do? Cover myself head-to-toe to make them happy?
  2. The Doctor's know me by name and converse with me, I must be sleeping with them- I'm a 20 year-old-virgin, who is too nice in my opinion. But because i'm well liked the ultimatum is I must be the Hospital whore!
  3. I'm the Yes Woman, I say yes to everything- This means I have no life so I can pull the energy for double shifts out of my ass and I am a human octopus who can do million's of tasks at once! I may be efficient and quick but i'm only human I can't do everything. And
  4. A security guard is stalking me- I must be leading him on, otherwise why would he be the way he is...can you believe that? That is what I was asked whilst I was interviewed. I may be young and naive but who asks for a bald, 40 odd man to ask them if they watch porn, get winked at and have him blow kisses at you from across the room??? Oh and gets off on him buying you presents, you didn't ask for and then he asks what will he get in return? Yes, I want to be treated like that...where can I get more?
This is the type of bs I experience on a daily basis as a ward clerk in a Hospital. If the pay wasn't as good as it is, I would much rather return to my pizza making days, working with immature little kids.

Before I go, i'll let you know that all the time wasted in interviews achieved nothing. The security guard got off with not even a slap on the wrist. I still work with him, so basically the public embarrassment was all for nothing...I work for the government and I still received no justice. Lucky for me as it could be much worse, there are women out there who are sexually abused both physically and mentally.

If you are being abused, please seek help, there are people out there that will help you... If you are or know of anyone who is a victim of sexual abuse contact the NSW Rape Crisis Centre on 1800 424 017
